Project Server 2003 and SharePoint Services

Jaye

Hello,

I have a brand new install of Project Server 2003. SharePoint services is
installed on the same server, SQL is on a separate server. When I log in to
Project Web Access on the Project Server as an Admin, I get the following
error under the Risks and Issues headings on the homepage.

There is a problem establishing a connection with the Web server running
Windows SharePoint Services. Contact your system administrator.

I have also saved a project to the Project Server using Project Professional
2003. I can see the project I saved under Projects in Project Web Access
but when I click on it I get the following error.

There is no information to display in this view

Either the project manager has not published the project plan or there is no
information in the project plan to display.

I know that there is information in the project that I saved to the server.
Is this a permissions issue or do I have something set up wrong on the
server?

Thank you,

Hello Jaye,

The first error indicates that either your project server SharePoint
configuration isn't right or your SharePoint installation isn't right.

Go to the PWA | Admin | Manage Windows SharePoint Services menu.

Your SharePoint Central Administration URL: should be something like
http://servername:123456 where 123456 id the port number created when you
installed WSS. (You did write this number down, right?)

Push the Test Url: button and the Windows SharePoint Services Central
Administration page should appear. If this doesn't work, try opening the
central admin page from the administrators tool menu on your server.

If you can get to the Windows SharePoint Services Central Administration page,
check the Create a site under this SharePoint URL: field. It should be
something like http://servername:80/sites. Click the PublicDocuments link just
below this field. This should take me to the Public Documents page on your WSS
site. If it does, click Save Changes at the bottom of the page and wait
patiently until it connects to the server. When its done, everything should be
working. Go test it.

If it still isn't working and you have done everything else right, check the
directory security settings on your default web site using the IIS manager on
your server. Be sure the Integrated Windows Authentication option is checked.

Did this fix your problem?
