Project Server 2003 Information for Setup

Hi,

I'm working with someone and would like to use the full functionality of
Project 2003 by using Project Server. I have asked for their Project Server
URL
so we can set this up in Enterprise Options and this is the response I
got.

"I'm trying to get the server address from our Computing Services and
they're asking which one as apparently there are several linked to
Outlook.
I've told them we want to be able to link Project to Outlook, do you know
what information they want?"

Am I missing something here? Could anyone please give me any advice I can
give to Computing Services? They're using Outlook 2003 and Project 2003.

Many thanks,
Karen

I think I've got the correct discussion group this time. Sorry about that.

I'm really confused by your question, and even more confused by the reply
from Computing Services. All you need to do is to find out from Computing
Services who is the Project Server administrator for your system and then
contact that person to learn the URL for the production Project Server
instance at your company. A couple more things you need to know:

1. To connect Microsoft Project Professional to Project Server, you MUST be
set up in the system as a user and a member of the Project Managers group.
Are you actually set up in your company's Project Server system?

2. Although you can show Project Server tasks in Outlook, you actually set
up this connection in Project Web Access. So I don't understand the
Computing Services answer "...apparently there are several linked to
Outlook." Their reply makes no sense, this the connection is set up by each
user individually.

Let us know if this helps.

Hi Dale,

Thanks very much for your reply. Yes, I must admit, I was also confused by
Computing Services' answer. I have done this in the past and have set myself
up. I'll e-mail Computing Services your reply and I'll let you know how I
get on!

Thanks again, Dale.

Take care

Karen
