Project Server 2003 logon problem

Steve Miller

We are running Project Server 2003 SP2. Most of our users logon to our Active Directory
(Windows 2003) LAN and can then jump right to the Project Server 2003 web site. However,
a small number of people are prompted to logon again. They need to enter their LAN logon
and password (sometimes more than once) to logon to the Project Server 2003 web site. If
those people go to another workstation it connects them to the Project Server web site
without the extra logon so it is something on their workstations. Does anyone have an
idea of what I should be looking for?

There is a discussions feature in internet explorer that can cause this. It
looks like a post it note in the icons above the viewer and below the menu.
If that feature is turned on it will repeatedly prompt the user to login.

I too am having the same issue with one of our clients. Do you have a
solution to this?

Steve:

On these workstations, make sure that the browser security settings for the
zone in which you keep your Project Server URL (Trusted sites or Local
Intranet) is set to automatically logon with current credentials. If this is
set to prompt, you'll get the behavior you describe.
