Project Server 2003 Master Project Save & Publish Time

Keith

We are having an internal debate as what is the "typical" time we should
expect to save and publish a "Master Project". Currently our master project
contains 40-50 subprojects, with each subproject containing 150 tasks and 30
enterprise fields. Typically the save and publish process takes 20-30
minutes, but on occasion takes over an hour. Without getting into system
configurations and setup, what kind of respose time are others experiencing?

Keith,

Response time is a tricky thing but it does have much to do with not only
the amount of tasks, project and subprojects within the Master project but
also the total dates (First Project Start to Last Project End Date) and the
number of resources on the project(s) both generic and real. If you can
supply that information I can give you a rough idea based on timing tests I
have done at several companies.

Scott,
The time difference between the start of the first project and end of the
last project ranges between 6 and 8 months. Our enterprise resource pool
contains 123 resources, 100 of those are generic.

Thanks for the Help!

Keith,

My calculation puts this project at about 32 min with nomimal Network Latency.
