Project Server 2003 Migration

Ryan Langton

I recently moved our Project Server 2003 / WSS installation to a new server
and also moved the SQL installation to a 2nd server (went from a single
computer installation to a small scale installation - 2 servers).
I used the instructions listed in this Microsoft article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905386/

The WSS portion seems to be working fine, all my Project sites are back up
and I can access them. However, I am getting an error when trying to
connect using Project Professional 2003 or when trying to access the Project
User Site (http://servername/projectserver). The error is:

The following file(s) have been blocked by the administrator:
/projectserver/isapi/pjdbcomm.dll

I've installed SP2a for Project Server 2003, WSS, as well as the SQL
database. The SQL server is running SP3a as well as Analysis Services SP4.
IIS is configured to allow anonomous access to my Project Server site (in
IIS right clicked on the site-> properties -> directory security -> allow
anonomous access).

Thanks for any assistance!
Ryan

Did you use Edit Site to connect to the new database?

If not, search on on microsoft.com and get
the instructions (just type in: 823529) in the search
box and for the executable (editsite).

Basically, the ProjectServer (default name) database
has it's security going through:

MSProjectServerRole
and
MSProjectRole

You need to delete these two users in SQL
(drill down using Enterprise Manager to
the database and find them in "Logins")

All you need to do is recreate them with new passwords
used with the edit site utility.

I tried but have not had much luck with the EditSite utility. I'm running
it on the server with IIS and Project Server 2003 installed. When I
initially run it, Virtual Directory is blank. If I click Add and try to
create site I get an error that the site already exists. Should I be giving
it a new virtual directory location? Please see the screenshot in the link.
