Project Server 2003 migration

Hi,
We have project server 2003 and SQL server 2000. We plan to migrate to
Project 2007 and SQL Server 2005. We have one main project and 20 subprojects
and around 100 documents uploaded...what is the best method ...

Thanks in advance,
arun

I'd suggest you treat SQL upgrade and PS upgrade as two separate projects.
Personally I'd do the SQL upgrade first.

The PS upgrade can be done gradually or as a clean cut over. The choice of
which method really boils down to your requirements. Either way, test, test
and test again before moving into a production environment.

Also there is a good video on my website which covers the migration methods

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your reply. If I want move to SQL Server 2005. First I need
to migrate the PS 2003 database to 2005 then I need t run the migration tool.
I can't run the migration tool to move the data from SQL Server 2000 to SQL
Server 2005?

Thanks,
Arun

You can move to SQL 2005 by performing an in place upgrade or restoring the
DB's from 2000 to 2005. The migration tool preps the DB for the PS 2007
schema, so wouldn't then work with the PS 2003.

The reason why I say do the SQL upgrade first is to allow for focused
testing and troubleshooting. If you do both upgrades together, it would be
difficult to ascertain which upgrade is causing any problems.
