Hello. We have a Project Server 2003 environment up and running and the
performance is really slow when you try to open and save projects in project
pro. I know there could be many different reasons for this outside of
Project Server such as hardware and network but I am curious as to what the
limitations are for Project Server. We have about 30 projects in all but
each project is about 3000 lines average. Most of those projects also
contain hundreds of inter-project dependencies to about 5 other projects. We
have about 300 resources in addition to 300 generic resources. We have a few
but not a lot of custom fields and outline codes. So, would it be the size
of the projects, the dependencies within the projects, the number of
resources, or a combination that is likely the cause of the slow performance?
What kind of server architecture would be recommended for this configuration?
Thank you.
