Project Server 2003 Requirements

Eric E. Costella

I'm looking in to Project Server 2003 for my company, and have a few
questions...

What other server components are required to run PS2003? Microsoft's site
talks about SharePoint Services and SQL Server. Do I need to get both
SharePoint Portal Server and SQL Server?

What version of Project do my users need to be running? They are currently
on Project 2002 Standard.

Thanks for your help!

Sharepoint PORTAL server is not required. Users need project professional,
not project standard to get the full functionallity of project server. I'm
not completely up to date on how well project pro 2002 works with project
server 2003, but since you don't have any version of project pro, I'd use
project 2003 professional with project server 2003.

To answer your question regarding Project Pro 2002 - it will run in an EPM
environment, however you will lose some functionality.
