I am installing Project 2003 Server on a Windows 2003 server.
Our DBA has manually created the MS Project databases on a separate
SQL 2000/Win2000 server.
When I get to the MS Project Server 2003 Setup screen titled "Enter
database account information," (see the "MS Office Project Server 2003
Installation Guide" p 90), I input the logins and passwords that the
DBA defined on the SQL server. Setup then gives me the following
dialog box:
"The Windows locale settings on this computer prohibit a
connection to the database. Change the locale settings to
support code page 850 before attempting to connect to
database <OurDBName>."
Our DBA tells me that our SQL servers use code page 850 for historical
reasons. What's got us stumped, though, is that Windows Server 2003
seems to have code page 850 (and many others) enabled by default. In
the Regional and Language Options control panel, you can't even
disable code page 850 - it's checked on AND gray.
I've been hunting for info on this for a while. I'd love to find a
clue if anyone has an extra one to spare.
Thanks.

P.S. Sorry for the repost. I posted to m.p.p.standard_and_server group
by accident first time around.
