Project Server 2003 - Sign on problems

I’m sure I just didn’t set something up correctly, but damn if I can figure
out what I did wrong.

In project we assign task to resources – Bill Smith, Tom Jones, etc. We
sign onto Project Server using our Microsoft Windows User Accounts - TU1BMI2,
TU1TJON1, etc. When I open Project Server and look at my tasks, there aren’t
any because Project Server is looking for resource TU1BMI2, and not Bill
Smith. I can add a new task to a project while in Project Server and the new
task is assigned to TU1BMI2. That task will show up under the TASKS options.
What do I need to change in my set up to still use the Windows User Accounts
but have it convert over to the actual resource names so we can see all the
tasks?

Just make sure their user name is specified as their real name and the windows user account field has the domain account id. You do this in project web access under Admin>Manage Users

If I have anything in the windows user account field I get an error when
trying to add the resouce to the Enterprise Resource Pool. Got any other
ideas???

David:

You must enter the Windows account in the following format without the
quotes: "domainname\logonname"

If you get an error when you enter it correctly, then your Project Server
machine is not talking to your domain controller correctly.
