Project Server 2003-Test or SandBox Environment Help

Hey all,

I've been assigned the task of managing our Projects Sever 2003 for the
organization. I'm still rather new to the Project Server 2003 and getting
the hang of maintaining the system. One of my first tasks is to create a
copy/backup of the server for testing.

Our current configuration is a NON-Share Point Services environment with the
server PROJECT1 accessing a sql server (SQLDATA1) for the database
(projectdat). The inetended sandbox/test setup will include a new server
(PROJECTTEST) and a copy of the database restored to a different name
(projectdattest) on the same sql server (SQLDATA1). My understanding from
seraching the web and some newsgroups is to complete the following:

1. Backup SQL Database and restore it to the sql server (SQLDATA1) as a new
name (projectdattest). Ensuring to create new accounts for
MSProjectServerUser and ProjectServerUser (named MSProjectServerUser2 and
ProjectServerUser2) and then assign these to the database.

2. Install Windows Server 2003 SP1 and Project Server 2003 SP1 on the new
server (PROJECTTEST). Setup Project Server 2003 with the 'connect to an
existing Project Server database' option.

Are these the only steps I should be concerned with? I noticed a tool
called EditSite but I'm not sure if I need to use this tool to create a
sandbox/test environment of our project server. Is this correct?

Thanks,

Roger

FaisalM,

Thanks for the response. I'll definitely place the SQL server on the same
box for testing. Other than the issue with the SQL database location, will
my planned install work as I have desribed?

Also, would I have to use tools like EditSite?
