project server 2003 vs. project 2003

Hi there,

I've defined a project and upload few documents. i got 2 problems.
first, when i want to reach the document library, i have to give the
domain administrator password to reach the site. second, after i
succesfully upload the documents i click on the synchronize with the
project server, i got an error message; 'Project Server faild to update
the links in Project Server database'.

how could i solve these problems?

For your first issue, WSS requires that you use windows authenticated
accounts for a seamless integration between Project Server and WSS. You
should create an account for yourself with your Windows User Account and
give yourself administrator rights. After that, synchronize administrator
accounts by going to PWA Admin>Manage Windows Sharepoint
Services>Synchronize administrator accounts.

After that, you shouldn't get prompted for the administrator password since
it will authenticate you with your windows user account.

For you second issue, sounds like there might be some
installation/configuration issues. Are you getting any errors on the
server's application logs?

Hi,

I changed the authentication to windows user account method, and the
password problem solved. But this method works only if you have account
on that computer where were installed the project server or you have an
domain account, but you cannot add your own account on your own computer.
That means you cannot add project from your own computer running project
2003, because when i have an projectserver account only i cannot reach
the document library.
how can i solve that?
