Project server 2003 with a remote instance of sql

Is it possible to configure Project server 2003 with a remote instance
of sql? All of the directions that I've read on setting up Project
server say that the SQL install should be on the same machine as
Project server. Has anyone suceeded in using a install of SQL that is
on a different machine? How did you do it?

Thanks

cholzhauer,

I have only ever seen SQL on a seperate machine than Project Server. I just
did my 4th install the other day. Even the installation manual by MS
discourages single machine installations for production environments, and
goes into detail about multiple-server intallation processes (see page 16 of
this guide:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...e3-0478-4ac3-a230-c4f2d82096c1&DisplayLang=en).

What part of the install process are you specifically concerned with?

Whoops, looks like I've been using the wrong book from MS...I'll
download that one and use that instead; hopefully everything goes
right.

Thanks Marcus
