Project Server 2003

Gonzalo Osorio

Hello everybody,

I have the following problem with Project Server 2003. When I build a team
from enterprise to allocate resources to the project, I´m receiving the
following error message:

Check row 45 and column RES_NAME
The name of the resources cannot contain brackets ( [ ] ) or the list
separation character.

I Check the resource center and apparently everything seems to be fine. All
fields of a resource are appropriately allocated. Can someone give me a
hand to solve this problem.

Thank you,
Gonzalo Osorio

Gonzalo:

The message would indicate bad character data in row 45 of the MSP_RESOURCES
table. It could by a comma or trailing space as well as one of the other
illegal characters in the system. It may be a character that isn't visible
if you imported this information from Excel or from Active Directory. You
may need to look directly at the database table to find it.

Basically anything other than the underscore that isn't an alpha or numeric
character.

No need to find out what's wrong with it. Just re-type the Resource name,
carefully.

Only retyping the resource name can solve this issue? Because I check the
column, and everything seems to be fine. I couldn't find a bracket or a
coma.

I am having the same issue as Gonzalo Osorio also except it is at row 77. I
have completed a sql query on MSP_RESOURCES that puts an asterisk at the
front and back of res_name to see if I can find leading or trailing spaces.
There are no brackets in the data or illegal characters that I can see.

Any other ideas on what to search to find the culprit and fix the data?
How would you find row 77 using SQL select?

Thank you,
Lizzie Beth

Hi guys, Finally I solve this issue by setting up the list separator from
