project server 2007 and office 2003

We are looking to upgrade from Project Server 2003 to Project Server 2007.
Before we move forward, I need to Know if PS 2007 is compatible Office 2003
products? I did find some product information that it can be used with
Exchange 2003. Any information would be appreciated.

Yes, I believe that Project Server 2007 is compatible with Microsoft Office
2003. There are a few differences how the system interracts with Office
2003, however. For example, Excel Visual Reports are not nearly as
impressive in Excel 2003 as they are in Excel 2007, nor are the PivotTables
nearly as easy to edit. In the Project Workspace, there are a few
differences in how users check out and edit documents from a Document
Library, but these differences are VERY minor. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your help.

If Excel 2003 is the only product minimally affected, we can live with that.
We were more concerned about Outlook 2003 working correctly.

Hi NC71,
The only area where an Office 2007 product is required is Visio 2007
Professional within the visual reports. Everything else can be Office 2003.
Exchange 2003 isn't required, just an SMTP server. Outlook 2003 will work
just fine.

Thank you. Having a second confirmation gives me confidence that our WSS
3.0/Project Server 2007 will work properly.
