Project Server 2007 database sizing?

Kerry

Is there any documentation on the space required required for the database.
Something like 100 projects with 100 tasks, and cubes would be how big? Or
200 projects with 500, etc.. Is there a planning template or guide. I've
looked, but not found it. I know I just must be missing it. Thanks for help.

The reason why there's no documentation around this topic is that it's almost
impossible to provide any reliable indicatation of size as there are simply
too many paramters to take into consideration.

I'd recommend uploading a sample set of typical project data for your
company, then use this as a mulitplying factor to determine future needs.

(ie upload 10 projects with assignments, baselines, documents etc. If you
expect to enter 200 projects over the next 3 years, then you can expect the
storage to be approx 200% larger)

Kerry:

In addition to Paul's sage advice, one of the biggest challenges with sizing
a Project Server database is allowing enough space for the log files, which
grow at a much faster rate than the databases. Your backup and recovery
requirements will influence this as these grow rampantly until truncated.
