Project Server 2007 - Service Pack 1 release date?

S

Shaun Weedon

Hi,

Does anyone know when Microsoft plan to release Service Pack 1 for MS
Project Server 2007/ Project Professional 2007?

We are currently struggling trying to get Project Server 2003 to work with
SQL2005 and currently, due to issues that MS Premier Support are aware of, we
have reached a point where we need to take a decision on Project Server 2007.

We understand that there are some ‘bugs’ with Project Server 2007/Project
Professional 2007, so as an organisation we would not be prepared to rollout
Project Server 2007 until SP1 was available. Out of interest is their a log
of known issues with Project Server/Project Professional 2007 so that we can
establish its relative 'stability'?

I look forward to a response.

Kind regards,
Shaun

You should contact Premier Support rather than this newsgroup.
There is no official word on any service pack for Project Server 2007 since
it was just released a few weeks ago. You are more likely to get a couple of
hotfixes in the short term.
But again, contact microsoft directly.

Thanks Jack.

We have asked Microsoft directly and currently we are waiting on a response.

I thought i'd check the newsgroups to see if any MS engineers had any insight.

MS Project/Project Server 2007 was released on the 30 November, so it has
been available for some 3 months now.

No one in this newsgroup works for Microsoft. We are all volunteers. Even
those of us who are MVP's do not have any special insider knowledge about
when SP1 will be released. Sorry.

Retail release was mid-January I think. Anyway, it took several months to
get a service release for even a deeply flawed release like Project 98
(which would crash and corrupt files if you sneezed) . Going by past
performance you will likely see hotfixes for immediate serious problems and
then a roll-up of those fixes (and others) several months from now.

Pure speculation on my part.
