Project Server 2007 Sharepoint Integration

When publishing a new project to Project Server 2007 a Sharepoint site is
created for that project. Within that new site defaults lists are created
(tasks, issues, risks, etc...).

Question: Is the task list supposed to be integrated with the published
project or is that a seperate independent task list?

The task list is a separate independent list and has no relationship with the
tasks in the project schedule.
