Project server access

hello,

i have two machines M1 and M2 with wireless adapters; M1 has windows 2003
with moss and PWA with workgroup name home and M2 also part of home workgroup

the windows firewall are enabled on both; Dynamic IP is also anabled on both
machines and i can access internet on both

but using m2 when i try to access any site from m1 then im not able to do so

both cant ping each other as well

i want to enable m1 and m2 to access each other from windows explorer and
browser as well

kindly suggest

Hi Bhavtosh...

The issue is a basic networking problem, so I would post to the relevant
windows server group. One thing I would check though is that you can ping
them by name (rather than IP address), and if so, then you need to make sure
the credentials you are using from M2 has the rights to PWA within M1.
Machines that are not part of the same domain (or domains that trust each
other) are always going to have these types of issues.

thanks ben; since my question was for both networking and project related i
thought to put it here but i will put my question to right place as suggested

still i cant ping even by name; i wonder what is wrong in having a common
workgroup for machines?

Hi Bhavtosh, in the 1st instance I'd manually edit the hosts file to add the
DNS name. But before that, I'd see if you can log in with ipaddress\pwa
sitename.

i dont have dns enabled in VPC; both machines are on dynamic IP with router
managing the IP allocation
