Please HELP,
I'm trying to install SharePoint Team services to use with Microsoft Project
Server to handle Issues.
Both Project Server and SharePoint Team Services are installed in the same
computer. Project Server is using a DB in other computer buy SharePoint is
using a DB installed in the same computer as Project Server and SharePoint
I cannot connect to the SharePoint server from Project Server, specifically
to the server where the sharepoint DB is located.
I go to Connect to servers / Manage SharePoint Team Services / Add Server,
enter all the info and I received allways the following error:
=== START MESSAGE 1===
Microsoft Project Server cannot read from the specified SharePoint database
The reason could be:
1. ESC\Administrator does not have read permission on the specified
SharePoint database
2. The database server and database name are not correctly specified.
3. The database server is down and cannot be accessed at this time.
For more information on setting up and configuring SharePoint Team Services
on a Web server, refer to the Microsoft Project Server Instalation Guide on
the Microsoft Project Server menu (start menu, Program submenu).
==== END MESSAGE 1 ==
PSCOMPlus is setup correctly as you can see from the message bellow the form
to add a server:
=== START MESSAGE 2 ===
Microsoft Project Server remotely administers the Web server running
SharePoint Team Services through ESC\Administrator. To change the account
information, run the PSCOMPlus tool installed with Microsoft Project Server,
and set the account for the MS Project Server STS Admin COM+ application.
Microsoft Project Server reads the specified SharePoint database
through ESC\Administrator. To change the account information, run the
PSCOMPlus tool installed with Microsoft Project Server, and set the account
for the MS Project Server STS DB Access COM+ application.
For more information, refer to the Microsoft Project Server
Installation Guide on the Microsoft Project Server menu (Start menu,
Programs submenu).
=== END MESSAGE 2 ===
I've tested the user ESC\Administrator connecting to the DB using Enterprise
Manager and selecting Windows Authentication. It goes without any problems.
I have assigned owner rights to this user aswell.
Has anyone any advice?
Thanks
