Project server and sharepoint

The tech guys loaded windows 2003 server and project server but did not
initially load sharepoint. Therefore we could not use the documents,
issues and risks. They loaded sharepoint but the 2 are not
communicating.

The url for project server is :
http://localhost/projectserver/Home/HomePage.asp
When I click on the documents link I get the following message:
"The documents, risks and issues features in Project Web Access use
Windows SharePoint Services.
A Windows SharePoint Services site needs to be created for your project
before you can share project documents or track project risks and
issues......."

When I go into sharepoint and try to create the project site, it says
it is already created. Currently I have discovered the following sites
none of which I can access through the documents, issues or risks links
on project server:

http://sheffield/sites/MS_ProjectServer_PublicDocuments/default.aspx -
this appears to be the correct site but it speicfies MS_ProjectServer
rather than the projectserver referenced in the url for the project
server site.

http://sheffield/sites/projectserver/_layouts/1033/viewlsts.aspx this
one appears to be a full sharepoint site with announcements, events,
Discussions and surveys.

Also, after sharepoint was installed, I could not access the
projectserver site. I ended up excluding it from sharepoint's control.
Was that a mistake?

In the manage Sharepoint services page, it shows the link as:
http://sheffield/sites/MS_ProjectServer_PublicDocuments but I still
cannot get to the site through the issues, risks or documents link on
project server.

Any insights? Thanks in advance.

Dear Norman,

To me it seems that its a new installation that you have done and Also you
donot have any projects loaded (atleast no risks, issues and document) thus I
would suggest the following sequence:

1) Uninstall WSS
2) Delete WSS Config and Content DB
3) Do a completely new installation of WSS (New DBs). Cofigure WSS
accordingly.
4) Goto project server. Windows sharepoint services and give the url of the
newly created site e.g. http://sheffield/sites
5) Now create site for every Project

I followed the same sequence a year back when a faced an issue of this sort
and it worked. Let me know in case of any assitance.

Regards,
Ehsan
