Project server and WSS and SPS

I have installed SPS 2003 thus installed the WSS came with it...

I just saw a post that said Project Server 2003 must use the WSS version
from the MS download site - IS this TRUE?

Why can I not use the version on the SPS 2003 install -

I ask since I will have it all on one server.

Thanks.

I'm running the same setup and have the same issues.

I first installed SQL Server, then installed SPS2003 with WSS, then Project
2003, then ran the WSS wizzard and I 'm having some issues:

1. When publishing a project, it is creating a WSS site but the site name is
"projectserver_101" and not the name of the project.

2. SPS2003 doen't link to the team site under sites, I can create the link
myself, I guess it's not writing to the

3. Issues, Risks and Shared Documents when accessing via WSS, when adding a
listing, the "Save and Close" button produces a Runtime Error. I can add a
Doc by using the Explorer View and I can add Risks and Issues by using the
Edit in Data Sheet View.

I'm getting these errors in the SQL Error Log file:
2004-04-26 09:22:19.25 logon Login succeeded for user
'MSProjectServerUser'. Connection: Non-Trusted.
MSProjectServerUser is in the SQL DB as a Standard User which has access to
the ProjectServer DB with Roles: public, MSProjectServerRole

thanks,
