We have recently implemented Project 2007 Server in our Department. We are
trying to figure out a best way of coordinating work between the PMs and the
resources. We are using Project Web Access to manage time as well. This is
our current process:
1. PMs will publish Project Plans on Mondays
2. Resources will create new time sheets on Mondays after the Project Plans
are published and start tracking their time against tasks
3. Resources will save and submit their time sheets on Fridays. They will
also import time sheets into Project Plans and submit them
4. These updates will be reviewed by the PMs on Monday and the Project Plans
are updated and republished
We have some resources who do weekend work. If our current process has the
resources submitting time sheets on Fridays, how can we make sure we are
properly capturing their weekend work? We don't want to have them submit
timesheets on Monday morning.
How do people manage these kind of handoffs?
I apologize for the long post. Would greatly appreciate any feedback from
experts on best practices as well.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
