Project Server Best way to use it?

Hi,

We plan to install project server 2007 at our company. We have installed the
beta2 version so that we could look at the technical features of the EPM2007
solution.
Now I am wondering where I can find some information about the business
processes we should put in place to use it in the best efficient way
(functional processes, best practices on how to use EPM solution, ...).
I know EPM2007 is new, so any information from EPM2003 would already be
helpful.

Thanks.

Hi PP,

the best advice I can give is to include a solution implementaion
specialist, not because we are, but because of my experience of project
falure when implementing Project Server with only inhouse resources.

If you still like to implement it yourself you will find very good reference
documents on the Microsoft site.
Hope this helps

Thx Marc.
I think you are right. This is also what I learned from my previous
experience in implementing such a solution. But I was just curious to see if
there was no EIF document or new site that I haven't checked yet.

Thanks anyway for your answer

Hi PP,

Here is a site from a bunch of great Project Server specialists in the
States. I had the pleasure meeting them and I can tell you that they know
what they are doing. The site contains of lots of great Q&A's in regards to
Project Server. Check it out unnder:

I promise that we'll publish this guidance in our new book series for 2007.
Microsoft basically dropped the EIF approach in favor of much more elaborate
guidance that it calls "EPM University." This is why you're not finding the
EIF on the site anymore. EPM U is offered through partners, not directly to
end users. Inasmuch as I believe that the EPM University guidance is both
bloated and overbaked, it may be a blessing that you can't access it.<g>
