Project server cube failure(2007)

Hello guys

I have the following project server 2007 environment:

Project Server 2007 (sp1 and the new infrastructure update) on one server

Sql server 2005(sp2) on another server

On the project server machine I have installed the following DSO components:

The SQL native client

SQL Server 2005backward compatibility component

The SQL Server 2005 management object

All the above were downloaded from the Microsoft site SQL feature pack

However, If I want to build my cubes I receive an error which says that:

'Active X can't create object'

I have added the ssp admin account the OLAP group on the sql server 2005
machine and it is also the server administrator on the analysis services
database.

I have read the cube building services document on technet line for line and
I am not where I have gone wrong.

Please help me.

Hi ghostme,

Which download did you use for the SQL feature pack components. I alway use
the one from february 2007 as with older ones you can run into troubles (like
the one you are having now).
Is your project server a x64 machine?

Could you check in 'add/remove programs' that 'SQL Server 2005 Management
Objects ' is listed?
If it is there I would suggest to use procmon (sysinternals tool) to see
where the process tries to do something which fails (eg. registry access).
