Project server error

Cale

When trying to connect Microsft Office Project Pro 2003 client to my Project
server 2003 I receive the following error:

Project Server error

The server returned an error while processing your request. The error could
be caused by one of the following:
*The URL specified is not valid or is not a Project Server.
*Internet Explorer is set to Work Offline
*The server could not process your request.
*An internal server error occurred.

Contact your server administrator.

This used to work just fine and I have tried different URL's... The system
is up and running ok. I checked the event log and here is the only thing in
there I think that applies to this:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Active Server Pages
Event Category: None
Event ID: 5
Date: 5/9/2005
Time: 11:02:14 AM
User: N/A
Computer: NGIT-EPMS
Description:
Error: The Template Persistent Cache initialization failed for Application
Pool 'MSPS2003AppPool' because of the following error: Could not create a
Disk Cache Sub-directory for the Application Pool. The data may have
additional error codes..

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Data:
0000: 05 00 00 00 ....

Or maybe this:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Microsoft Project Server Tracing Eventlog Provider
Event Category: None
Event ID: 2
Date: 5/9/2005
Time: 10:43:57 AM
User: NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE
Computer: NGIT-EPMS
Description:
Component: PjSvrNPE
File: C:\Office\devsp\project\WebClient\source\server\pjnpe\CPjNPE.cpp
Line: 32
Error Number: 0x80010105
Description:
Assert Detected. The error code was also
included.

Anybody have any idea how to fix my problem?

Thanks,

Hi Cale,

When you open PWA, does Project Server 2003 log you in automatically, or are
you prompted for a username and password? If you are prompted for a user
name and password by IE then this is most probably your problem. Please let
me know, then we can take it further...

Hi Nico,

To answer your question the general answer is yes I am prompted to log on
using a username and password when accessing PWA. Sometimes if I return to
the site after already successfully authenticating I can log in without being
prompted. But generally I am prompted. thank you for your reply and I look
forward to hearing from you further.

Thanks!

Thank you for posting this issue Cale because I am having the same error on
my server. However, I am using the Windows authentication so I don't to log
on using a username and password when accessing PWA.

Any help will be appreciated
