Project Server Forms Authentication relative to Portfolio Server 2007 and SharePoint Services

Can you use Forms / LDAP authentication with Project Server 2007 and
still have a connection to Portfolio Server?

Would you still be able to access a project workspace in SharePoint
Services without having to login again or will SharePoint force you to
login to AD?

I guess in that case, whether you were using Novell or Windows for
file services and workstation login, you would always login to Project
Server rather than having your credentials passed (via Windows),
correct?

Thanks,
Andy

Andy:

Yes, you can use forms authentication for Project Server because SharePoint
supports forms authentication. Project Server 2007 is a service running
under SharePoint. I suspect, but I'm not certain, that this does not support
the use of Analysis Services.

You cannot use the same Forms Auth user account for Project Server and
Potfolio Server as Portfolio Server uses either AD auth or Application Auth.

One possible way around this is to have a local windows account used to
authenticate to both apps. This approach may not be suitable for all
environments.
