Project Server Gateway in Portfolio Server

Hello. I am trying to fast track my knowledge with the Project Server
Gateway within Portfolio Server and am seeking any documentation on
the tool/functionality.

I am knowledgeable on Project Server 2007 as well as Portfolio server
2007. But things with Project Server Gateway like:
What is the link between Project Server and Portfolio Server
resources. I read something about the link being at the outline code
level. But looking in Project Server, I don't see any Outline codes
(Custom Fields) that tie to Portfolio Server.
I am also confused how the links are made between projects in Project
Server and Portfolio Server.

Any documentation that anyone can point to will be GREATLY
appreciated.

I'm in a similar situation and im interested in information regarding
Portfolio Servers API (PPSI) and how the Gateway Functions.

So far I have had little luck in finding any comprehensive doco. Have
downloaded EPMSync (www.codeplex.com/epmsync) and the Project Portfolio
Server 2007 Document: Programmer Reference from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...8B-6784-4E6A-B716-96D571EEB676&displaylang=en to see if they shed any light on the subject.
