Hello everybody,
I have encountered a strange error in Project Server 2003 which I can not
resolve, nor I can find any solution whatsoever either on Microsoft site or
Usenet.
I have installed Microsoft Project Server 2003 on a freshly installed
Windows Server 2003 Enterprise machine. I have installed SQL Server 2000
Enterprise with Analysis services and patched them both to service pack 3. I
have deployed Windows SharePoint Services on the same machine and patched
Project Server to Service Pack 1 for all components (server, database, wss).
Now, when I connect to the server using Microsoft Project Professional 2003,
I get the following error message:
"Incompatible Codepages.
Project has detected incompatible codepages.
- The Project Server is using Codepage 1252 (ANSI - Latin I).
- Your computer is using Codepage 1250 (ANSI - Central Europe)."
This is extremely strange because both server and my client computer are
configured with the same regional settings options (Croatian set to all
possible options, settings and defaults).
I tried changing regional settings on server to some non-latin ones, but the
error message remained always the same (it always stated that the server was
running Codepage 1252).
Then I decided trying to install Project Professional on the server itself
and connect to that same server from itself, just to see what will happen.
When I installed the client and tried to connect, I got the same error
message. Now it was complete nonsense - I connected to the server from the
server itself, and it still declared that the client codepage differs from
the server codepage.
I tried searching newsgroups, TechNet and all other possible documentation
sources, and I found no clue.
Oh yes, I know your next question, the collation on SQL Server is also set
to Croatian (which is 1250).
Any suggestions?
