Project Server, Sharepoint, and Exchange newbie

Hello,

I have Windows 2003 Server and want to install Project Server and Exchange
Server. I am not sure if it is necessary to install Sharepoint, though. My
impression of Sharepoint is that it is a portal for documents and
information related to your company or project. Isn't there a way to add
documents, etc with Project Server? And doesn't Project Server basically
give you access to all information related to your project? What are the
differences or reasons for installing Sharepoint with Project Server? I am
not fully clear on what each one does and does not do. Thanks.

Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) provides Risk, Issue, and Document
management in Project Server. It also provides a common project workspace
for each project in which to have discussions, surveys, events, and
announcements. Without installing WSS, you get none of this functionality
in Project Server...period. Hope this helps.
