Project Server Timesheet Entry

Snig

Hi All

I'm really a newbie in the world of Project Server.
I've installed Project Server 2003 and Professional 2003, and published
a couple of projects.

But, what I'm finding the timesheet screen is not editable, i.e.
resources cannot enter actual hours against the tasks they have been
assigned. The timesheet view is generating only a read-only view, not
any means to enter actual hours.

What should I do? Any help will be much appreciated...

Thanks
Snig.

When you install Project Server 2003, the defaut method of tracking progress
is set as "Percent of Work Complete." You set the organization's method of
tracking in PWA by clicking Admin - Customize Project Web Access. Refer to
the following FAQ's for information about each of the three methods of
tracking progress and how to change the organization's method of tracking
progress:

Hope this helps.

Snig:

You need to set the tracking method of your projects to one of the hours
tracking methods, either by day, by week, by month, etc. You can set this on
a per project basis, you can set the default tracking method or even lock it
down by configuring your tracking settings in Project Web Access. I could
write a book on this topic (actually I did) so it's a bit voluminous to try
to explain this in a news group post, but the following FAQ should help you
understand this a little better:

Post back with any specific question you have that the FAQ doesn't answer.
