Project Server with already existing WSS

hi,

We are currently running a Sharepoint site on a server in our office. We
also want to install Project Server 2003 and make use of the features of this
that require sharepoint.

So my question is, is it possible to have Project Server use Sharepoint
while keeping our sharepoint intranet site? In the installation instructions
for Project Server when it talks about setting the configuration server and
extending the virtual server, I'm thinking these settings would interfere
with our current sharepoint site.

Thanks for any help,

Andy.

Hello Andy,

I used an existing WSS server that was hosting one configuration database
and two virtual servers before I installed a medium scale Project Server
deployment.

So I created a new virtual server and insured that it's web site was not
within the default web site, a separate content data base hosted on SQL2K, a
specific IIS target directory was created, and port settings were unique.

There probably will be some dissent out there, but I believe that running a
WSS Server (multiple virtual servers), Views Server, Project Server, and SQL
server is fine.
