Project Slices

I've got multiple software projects. Their build and
testing phases become connected when they hit a "release
window." That is, the development, testing and go live
for release 1 of Project x, and release 2 of project y
are really the same project, release Q of our overall
system (which will include project x and project y).

I'd like to be able to show both perspectives as a kind
of "slice." That is, you've got the project/module level
view, and the project overall release view. Treating the
latter as a sub-project and the former as the master
project doesn't exactly seem to work.

I was thinking that I could use a project for each
release, then tag a field to be the "Project" field.
Each release would be a sub-project in my master project.

So, if I wanted to just show/track "Module X of Y," of
which pieces were in release 3.1 and 3.2, I'd just filter
by that field.

Hello Garry,
May be could you create a "master project" named "Project overall release
view" in which you'ld insert all the
"project/module level" files :
Insert / Project...
Then you can use the filters (Project / Filter for... / More filters...) to
see what you want.
