Project statistics

I have a standard schedule I use as a template. I open it
modify it and save as a new schedule. The problem is that
the statistics are tracked from the original schedule. Is
there a way to reset the statistics on a file to better
track revisions and other file information?

Hi Pops,

The statistics are baseline data. (Baseline Work,
Baseline Cost, etc.)
Once you have saved the file as a new schedule go to
Tools -->Tracking --> Save Baseline. That should modify
the statistic information to match the current schedule.

Hope this helps.

Hello Pops,
Have you tried to use a *true* mpt template ? : File / Save as... / Save as
type : Template
Hope this helps,

I just tried that with no effect on the revision number or
creation date found on the File|Properties| statistics
dates and number of revisions. Any other ideas?

Hi Pops,

I apologize. Terminology confusion on my part, I thought
you were talking about Project|Project Information|
Statistics, not File|Properties|Statistics.

The only way I can discover what I think you are looking
for is to do as Gerard Ducouret suggested in his post.
Save the project file as a template file. [File|Save As|
change the file type to template]. Then when you choose
file|New and base the new file on the template, your file
properties are "re-set."

Sorry again for the misdirect. Hope this helps.
