project tracking problem

I meet a tracking problem when I update Project plan. for example, I have one task will last five days in original pla
day 1 2 hou
day 2 2 hou
day 3 2 hou
day 4 2 hou
day 5 2 hou
when I update 1 hour as actual hours in day 1 ( actually I just spent 1 hour on this task in day 1), so the status will be occured as follo
day 1 1 hou
day 2 2 hou
day 3 2 hou
day 4 2 hou
day 5 2 hour
day 6 1 hour
and the extra 1 hour in day 6 will cause the resoure overallocation and task delay. and I have to spend lot of time to adjust the future plan once again when I update the current actual hours
is there have any way to keep the future plan doesn't change when I update the current actual hour?? it will rescue lot of time for adjust project plan once again, thanks a lot

Project suuports three task "types": Fixed Duration, Fixed Work and Fixed
Units. Try setting the task type to Fixed Duration. This should let you
work the way you want.
