Project transfer across organizations in Portfolio

I had a query with the usage of portfolio server. Could anyone please help
me out with this.
We have some changes in the organization structure, that means, some new
organization created, some merged. So, the projects should be transferred
form one organization from other.

As far as I have understood, there is no direct feature to change the
organization for a project. I have tried the feature for project data export
/ import in settings. That functionality does not transfer the project data.

My question for all of you is: What can be the possible ways for this kind
of transfer ?
