Project Update Error

J

John

When performing an Update from within MS Project Pro (PS 2003, SP1), I got a
script error and then a spoiler error. The spoiler error showed the
0x80004005. When I looked in the application event logs on Project Server I
noted a series of warnings that were associated with the message handler

Component: PjMsgHlr
File: C:\Office\dev\project\WebClient\source\server\pjmsghlr\updatedb.cpp
Line: 4703
Description:
VERIFYPTR(NULL)

Has anyone seen this? If so, what are the implications?

Is this the only error you're seeing. The entire series would be helpful as
any single error may have a number of causes. By the batch, they tend to
take on more meaning. Are you using non alpha-numeric characters in your
project names?

John:

I'm suspecting corruption in the plan. Try the following solution and let us
know if it helps. Note that if this doesn't solve the problem, the next step
would be to remove the plan from the server and import it back in and then
repeat the following procedure:

Let us know how it goes.
