project web access error

I'm having a problem connecting outside our domain using
a user account set up to use window
authentication. When the url for the project server is entered it will prompt for
credentials but entering the user name and password for
the windows authentication account does not work. It
loops through the credentials prompt again. If a user
name and password is entered that uses projec
authentication it works. We have users that need to
access Project Web Access that have Windows
accounts on our domain. Iam entering (domainname\username). I an logon with same credentials from inside
It is giving 5002 erro

We're running Project Server 2003

Any help would be appreciated.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of how Windows Authenticating works
with Project Server. It's automatic. The user enters nothing, but the user
must be logged into the domain. If you want to provide access across the
Internet, you need to provide a VPN solution to your network, or install SSL
on the server and use Basic Authentication with local accounts on the
server.

thanks for your reply. you are right i able to logon automatically when i am authenticated to network. but iam tryin

remotely with windows authentication (like in outlook web access). Is there anyway for that without vpn

You need a security certificate to begin with. This is really a server/IIS
question. You'll get better answers on how to configure your server with SSL
in the IIS and Windows Server newsgroups. You should also read the
deployment information for Project Server on TechNet. This isn't a simple
install.

thanks for your reply. I have 6 projects in project server, out of them when i open with project 2003 showing onl
4 project (all are showing "published"). The other two is showing in project center which i want to make them availabl
to project 2003 users. How can i open them in project 2003 & publish those projects? thanks for your help in advanc

Is it possible that these were published as workgroup plans rather than
enterprise plans? That might explain the behavior you're seeing.
