PROJECT WEB ACCESS HOME PAGE

I have a user who;s name has been changed in Active Directory, yet her name
on the PWA home page still reflects her previous name. What am I not doing
that this is not showing the corrected name?

Thanks!

Are you referring to PS 2007 and are you referring to the Welcome .... piece
on the top right hand side of the screen? I have seen this issue as well
and believe it to be a bug with the tool. Have you applied any of the
service packs or hotfix rollups yet?

Yes, Project Server 2007 with SP1.

Hi Dots,

1) Log off from PWA and Relogin:

On PWA home, on the top right hand side of the screen (Welcome <user
name>), click on down arrow and click on "Sign Out"

When the user login back to PWA home page, there are chances to see
the updated name with Welcome message

2) If the step 1 doesn't work, make sure you run "Active Directory
Enterprise Resource Pool Synchronization" from Server settings.

Thanks

Paul,

I do not see an option to clear cache under user accounts. Can you be more
specific? Also, I see there is an option under "My Settings", on the PWA
Home page. But, it does not allow me to change the name there (and it is
showing the old name).

I did this AD synchronization, now most of my users are getting an ACCESS
DENIED error message when trying to get to PWA. HELP! I have tried
resynchronizing my groups but nothing seems to be helping restore user access.

Hi Dots,

I hope your enterprise resource pool is integrated with AD. Have you
scheduled the syncronization in past? How you get the modified info
from AD to PWA? Is it manual process?

You can do troubleshoot by choosing one user. See the user name and
windows id for that user on Manage Users section under server
settings. Do you see the correct user name and permissions? Ask user
to login back to PWA.

Thanks

Also check the queue to see if your synchronization process is hung. It
could have removed the users from PWA top level shareponit site and not
added them back in because the job did not complete.

You can verify the users who have access under PWA>Site Actions>Site
Settings>People and Groups.

The queue was hung and I am now correcting the synch issue. Personally,
after this experience, it is not a good idea to use the server settings, AD
synch as when you select one group, it marks all oter users as inactive. NOT
GOOD.

I believe that synchronizing AD groups with security groups under
"PWA>Server Settings>Manage Groups" should only add or remove users to the
group in question. It should not activate or de-activate any
resources/users.

The AD synch with the Enterprise Resource Pool is what would activate or
de-activate your users. Usually, you would use your all-inclusive AD group
to synchronize with the Enterprise Resource Pool and then use smaller groups
that are a subset of your all-inclusive AD group to synchronize with the
security groups.
