Project Web Access with FBA and LDAP datastore

To Whom It May Concern,

I've been trying to get LDAP working with PWA using the MS Technet article
"Create a Project Web Access site that uses forms-based authentication
against an LDAP datastore" and everything seems to work okay but when I try
to test communication with ADAM using Central Administration --> Application
Management --> Policy for Web Application and add users, when I type
LDAPMembership:user1 it finds nothing. It seems as if there is no
communication with the server at all but it is local on the project server
box.

I'm out of ideas and need help.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
