project web server admin error

Hi,

I recently installed Project Server 2003, but am getting a script error when
navigating to most of the admin pages. For example when navigating to
/Admin/Sec_users.asp I receive a script error:

Line 1765
Char: 3
Error: Internet Server Error: Object/module not found.

I did a little digging and that line is:

rs = oBusObj.BOAdminQuery( "ProjectServer", nQueryNumber, rgVBParams,
100, 540805107,
1129624875, 65001 );

I've installed SP2a. I've reinstalled my server software twice. I've tried
accessing this using both IE 6 and 7. I'm pulling my hair out. Does anyone
have a cluse as to what could be going on?

When installing SP2a for ProjectServer, did you also install the SP2a
database update?

When installing SP2a, you need to:
- run the SP2a SQL update on your database
- run the ProjectServer application update
- run the WSS update

Also, make sure that the projectserver URL is in the Trusted Sites zone.

Hope this helps,

Hi there,

I did all of those steps, although when installing the WSI update it just
runs and exits with no notification.. I thought that was a bit odd. I found
some information on technet that said that could be due to have microsoft
installer 3.0 installed instead of 3.1. I checked and I'm at 3.1 (v2). The
application event log also says that the installation completed successfully.
I'm at a loss. I've reinstalled this twice and it's just becoming more
frustrating. Thanks for the reply though.

Can you try this on a machine with IE 6 where IE 7 never has been
installed! I've seen some issues with IE7 and projectserver.

Also, make sure that you added the Projectserver URL to the trusted
sites zone and RESET the security level for the trusted sites zone to LOW.

One other thing to try, download the latest MDAC (I think it still is
2.8) and install MDAC on the client where the error occurs.
