PROJECT WILL NOT OPEN - NIGHTMARE

Can anyone help? I have Project Standard 2003, Student and Teacher Edition. I
used it earlier this month no problems. When I tried to use it today, message
said Project will not open. It said Do you want to start in safe mode? Then
Project failed to launch message said, Would you like to start Detect and
Repair? Then it would not open again and messge said This installation
package could not be opened verify that the package exists .... conctact the
application vendor. I tried to reinstall the programme but cannot do so as it
says I must uninstall it first, I cannot uninstall it becuase it is not shown
on the Add/Remove Programme List. None of my office 2003 applications were
shown, and I had to reinstall them all before they are shown, then unistall
them all and Project will still not reinstall or open. I am going round in
circles and getting nowhere. Has anyone experienced a similare problem?

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

Sounds like you have a major problem that's not likely to be connected with
Project. Have you checked for viruses? Have you tried a restore?

I think, Anniboo, you'll have to contact Microsoft support to solve this.

See if fixing hard disk problems with a tool like SpinRite from Gibson
Research will fix this.
