I saved the project yesterday and today when I try to open a box pops up and
says the file contains invalid data or to many rows.
It suggest to validate the data, but it will not open so I can do this. Any
suggestions?

Hi Channel Cat,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

It sounds like corruption to me. I suggest you use your backup project.
Otherwise, you could try opening a new project and using the Insert menu to
insert your project. If that works, you could try the suggestions in FAQ
Item: 43. Handling project file corruption and/or bloat.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address:http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Thanks Mike, I have no back up of the project.
None of the suggestions worked. I get the sane error message when I try of
insert.
The last thing I did yesterday was pass word protect the project. When I
open it today it ask for a pass word even if you say "Read Only". I tried
saving it to another location with the same results. I'm open for ANT
suggestions.

Hi Channel Cat,

Are you using Project 2007? It may be too late but if you are using Project
2007, please make sure you have SP-1 installed. There were some troubles
with password protected files in Project 2007.

Can you open the file if you supply the password?

I hope this helps.

I have 2002.
The one thing I remember from yesterday is bringing in task from another
project and a box pops up that says 'Bob is not a valid...., do you want to
add?' I said yes. I later saved it as a different file with a password and
left work. Today I get the invalid data warning and it will not open. It
requires a pass word reguardless of Read Only. It will not open with a
paaword.

Hi Channel Cat,

Thanks for the additional information. Well, I'm sorry to say it
sounds as though your file is a loss. Is the file a consolidated
master file? It sounds as though you have a resource pool file that
you added "Bob" to. Can you open that file?

Julie
