Project Workspace Collaboration Lists - What does this function do

When looking at Site Features under the Site Settings area, there is a
function acalled Project Workspace Collaboration Lists - Provides the lists
required within a Project Workspace for integration with Microsoft Office
Project Server 2007 including Project Documents, Project Issues, Project
Risks, and Project Deliverables. This function is not currently ACTIVE.
Should it be? Can someone explain the diffecerence between it being on or
off?
