Project Workspace - How to remove the right zone?

A

anovak

In the out-of-the-box project workspace (when created), there is a
left zone and a right zone. The right zone just has a site image and
a Links area.

My objective is to use the Project Details web part in the left zone,
but remove the right zone all together so that I'll have a much wider
screen area for the project schedule to display. I'd also add the
Links web part either above or below the Project Details web part and
delete both the site image and links web part in the right zone.

But the trick is getting rid of the right zone. How do I go about
doing that?

Thanks,

Hi Andy,

Unfortunately the out of the box project workspace template is based
on the normal Windows SharePoint Services template which has a left
and right zone, there are two options open to you:

1. Create a new Project Workspace, use SharePoint designer to edit
out the right hand web part zone, then save as a template and register
it as the new site template type for new Project workspaces.

2. Remove all content from the right hand zone, edit the page, choose
each webpart in the left hand zone and modify the appearance > width
to have a fixed width and not a maximum of the zone.

The first option is the most elegant, the second one is a bit clunky,
but easier if you don't have access to the template.
