Project workspace permissions

Hi,
How do I give view permission to a workspace without the person needing
access to PWA in project server 2007? We have several non-employees who need
access to view documents but I don't want them to have pwa access.

Thanks

Hello Barbara,

You can set the user access at workspace (SharePoint site) level
without adding them to PWA.

You should have administrator access on the workspace to perform the
below steps.

Steps:

Access SharePoint site home page

Click on Site Actions at right top corner of the page -> Site Settings

Click on People and group under Users and Permissions

Click on New -> Add users

Enter user name and permission level

Note: You can also define group, let's say "SharePoint only" and add
users within the group.

Thanks

Barbara,

Additional to my previous posting, please keep in mind the following:

1. User names should be part of same Active Directory that your
Project Server integrated for windows authentication

2. Provide the SharePoint (Workspace) URL to users, do not give PWA
URL.

Thanks

Hi Barbara,

as per Chak's post it is possible to apply permission to a user to a
workspace without having this user beeing part of Project Server, but please
note that these users will not be able to use the Project Server
functionality build into the workpsace ( E.g. linking risks, issues and
documents to the schedule).
Hope this helps
