PROJECTS and E-mail Alerts

Good afternoon all,
Let me start out by saying I am quite the novice with
PROJECTS, but learning everyday. I am responsible for 12
sizable integrated master schedules in my office. Lots of
trial by error.

QUESTION - I am trying to find out if PROJECTS can be set
up to send an E-mail (read warning/alert) to a specified E-
mail address when a task is coming due or even busted a
deadline (finish). For example - if my task has a finish
date is 25 Sep 03, does PROJECTS have the function that I
can set up rules that will notifiy me of this deadline
and the fact I have not completed the task?
