Projects apearing in 'Add Lines' in timesheets

Hi

A question about Project Server 2007

When resources go to 'Add Lines' in their timesheets, they see projects
where they are members of the resource pool and they see tasks on which they
have been assigned work. Closing tasks to updates removes the tasks from
this 'Add Lines' feature on the timesheets but the list of projects still
remains. How can I remove projects from this 'Add Lines' list once the
project is complete?

I've tried making sure that all tasks are complete (the project shows as
100% Complete), all tasks are closed to updates but when I open a timesheet
for a period after the end of the project, the project still appears when I
go to 'Add Lines'. In a year or so resources will have an enormous number of
projects in this list if I can't hide old projects.

I assume I'm missing something, can someone help me with this?

Thanks in advance.

I believe the situation you see is an unfixed bug in Project Server 2007.
At this point, there's no way to remove the project lines from the Add Lines
list, even though the tasks in that project are closed to updates.
Therefore, you will need to make this a training and performance issue with
your team members until Microsoft fixes the bug. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your usual prompt help with this Dale.

I hope Microsoft fix this soon as we've already got a long list of projects
appearing.

I am not sure if this will work but what happens if you remove the resource
from the project team? I know that they cannot see the project listed in the
Add Line section if they are not added to the project team.

Let me know if that solves the problem

Hi Dave

Sorry it took me so long to reply, i've only just tested your proposed
solution. It seems that even removing the resource from the project tasks
and the project's enterprise resource pool doesn't remove the project from
the 'Add Lines' section of the timesheets. It seems deleting the project is
the only thing that works.

A bit of a shame really that you have to go to these lengths to tidy this
list of projects up. It seems once you're been added to the resource pool
you will always see the project in add lines while the project still exists.

Andrew
