Projects/tasks cancelled

I have a program in MS 2003 with 50 individual projects all in the same file
as they share resources. One of the projects has been cancelled but some of
the tasks were already completed. This cancelled project has no dependencies
with other projects and I want to know what is the best way to reflect this
situation in MS Project. I can think of deleting the not completed tasks or
make them 100% complete but this will not reflect the original plan or the
reality. Any suggestion?
Thanks and regards

Has the project been baselined? If so, then the original plan will be
preserved. In that case, you could mark all the tasks as being complete but
then add a note to the task, or the Summary Level to annotate that the
project was cancelled. You could then release the resource from those tasks
to show their availability back in the resource pool.

It would be unwise to delete the tasks as you will lose the intended plan
for the project.

Hope this helps.

In cases like this we set remaining work to 0 for all canceled tasks and
claim 100%. We also set the reamining duratin to 0 days. this preserves the
baseline data and does not progress the EV.

One more thing, set the actual finish date to the status date when you
decided to delete the tasks. Generally you do not want to delete the tasks
as this will pollute you baseline data (it will not roll up properly because
of the missing task data)
