TyhjäHi, I can not create project workspaces from PS2k3 to WSS. The symptoms
seem to suggest I don't have project templates installed (which I do), here
is short description of my problems:

1. On Connect to SharePoint server page I write the correct Central Admin
URL and correct SharePoint URL and click Save Changes, I get an error "There
are no site templates installed on the specified server running Windows
SharePoint Services. Verufy that the Web server is properly extended with
WSS."

2. On site provisioning settings page there is Site template combo and it is
empty.

3. On Manage WSS sites, I select a project and click Create Site, I get an
error "Error occured when creating site. Site does not seem to exist". I
noticed that I have a site called http://servername/sites/projectserver_101
(I have not created it manually). I then try to edit my projects site
address and get another error "The web site does not exist or is not
configured for Project Server. Enter a Web site that has been extended with
a Project Server compatible template."

I think I have tried everything I can think of. There was no trouble
installing ProjectServer. I have used wsswiz.exe to install project
workspace templates, I used PSComplus.exe to make sure I have correct user
account, I have tried every option in SharePoint Central Admin. I also have
SPS 2003 on my Windows Server 2003.

Hive missed something? Can someone please help,

Timo

Hi,

One thing that may be worth trying is reconnecting to the
WSS database in virtual server management and Add a
content database, I have set up a test server with three
instances of the sample database and I have noticed that
if I access them within quick succession i sometimes have
to delete the connetion to the WSS database and re add it
again as it seems to get a bit lost? The only other thing
is to make sure that nothing has happened to your WSS
Configuration Database

I have seen serveral people report this error. I am having the same issue.
It appears that for some reason that project server thinks the site
http://portalservername/sites does not exist however it does. If you select
connect to share point server in the options pain uner managed windows
sharepoint services you can click on
http://portalservername/sites/MS_ProjectServer_PublicDocuments and it opens
with no issues however when you attempt to save changes you get a message
that states:
<The server instance specified was not found. Please specify the server's
address and port.> I think these issues are related as they both popped up
at the same time. I have not changed any port settings so not sure why the
error appeared.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Stan

I am facing the same problem too. I have installed Project Server 2003
in a small scale deployment. I first installed SQL Server 2000 with
SP3 and Analysis Services on a Windows 2000 server. Then I installed
Sharepoint Portal Server 2003 on a different machine (Windows 2003
server obviously), and on the same machine I finally installed Project
Server 2003 and Project Professional, following all the steps
mentioned in the insatallation guide. I too noticed that the site
template field on the Site Provisioning Settings page was empty. So I
ran the WSS configuration wizard again, but on the managed paths page
it says that its already configured for MSOffice Project Server 2003.
I proceeded with the step but without any luck.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks - Amol
